Weather Data Sources

Where the weather updates we post on Facebook come from.

The weather updates and station readings CommunityPete shares on Facebook are sourced through the WillyWeather API and are provided for general community interest only.

Where our data comes from

We use WillyWeather to retrieve current conditions, forecasts, and station readings (such as temperature, wind, and rainfall) from official Australian weather stations. WillyWeather in turn draws its underlying observation and forecast data primarily from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).

General information only

Weather updates posted on our Facebook page are a convenience for our community and are not official forecasts or warnings. Conditions can change quickly, and readings may be delayed, estimated, or affected by station outages.

For official forecasts, warnings, and safety information, always refer directly to the Bureau of Meteorology or your relevant state emergency service.

No liability

CommunityPete does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any weather information we share, and accepts no responsibility for decisions made based on it.
