Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things people ask us most. Can't find what you need? Get in touch.

How do I submit a story?

Got something the community should know about — a local issue, someone who needs help, or a good news story? We'd love to hear from you. The easiest ways to reach us:

Include as much detail as you can — what happened, where, when, and any photos or links. We read every message and follow up where we can.

Is posting free?

Yes. We don't charge for posts and we don't run ads. CommunityPete is driven by the people, for the people — if your story fits what we do, there's no fee to share it.

We don't run ads. We don't charge for posts. Everything you see here is driven by the people, for the people.

We may not be able to share every submission — it depends on relevance, accuracy, and what's happening in the community at the time — but you'll never be asked to pay to post.

How do giveaways work?

From time to time we run ticket giveaways, prizes, and community surprises — usually through Facebook. Each promotion has its own rules, but in general:

  • Entries must follow the rules posted with that specific giveaway.
  • You need to meet any eligibility requirements (age, location, etc.) listed in the post.
  • We may verify entries and disqualify fraudulent or inappropriate submissions.
  • Prizes depend on availability and any terms set by event organisers or sponsors.
  • Our decisions are final, subject to Australian consumer law.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest giveaways — that's where they're announced and run.
